Are pets allowed?
Pets are permitted only with prior approval. Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up any/all pet refuse. Pets are not allowed on furniture at any time. Any evidence of pets on furniture may incur extra cleaning fees. Fleas and ticks are very rampant in this area and can cause harmful/fatal illness to humans and pets. All items above are the sole responsibility of the pet owner. We assume no responsibility for illness or injury that humans or pets may incur while on the premises.
What is the minimum stay?
The minimal rental period is 4 days. We can be flexible subject to availability and prior approval.
Does anybody live at the property?
When you make a booking, Palazzo Scagliae and its private grounds will all be for your SOLE personal use. Neither we nor any other guests will be present when the property is rented out. We live in the town of Gubbio, so are only 20 minutes away should you need any help with anything, and somebody will always be available. You will not however have access to the small outbuilding as this is used by us when Palazzo Scagliae is vacant.
Is smoking permitted?
Smoking is strictly NOT permitted inside the buildings. We kindly ask you to respect this. We also ask you to be very careful when smoking outside or in the open as the fields can get very dry during the summer and fires may be accidentally caused by discarded cigarettes.
Can I use the Jacuzzi & Barbeque?
Absolutely! Feel free to use the Jacuzzi and Barbeque! Please note children must be supervised at all times. When using the jacuzzi, remember there is a certain health risk associated with this facility. Use at your own risk. We regularly drain, sanitize, refill and replenish chemicals; therefore, it may not be warm on your arrival. DO NOT STAND ON THE COVERS. The covers are for insulation purposes and are not designed to support a person or persons. Remember when not using the tub, leave the cover on so that it will stay warm. Heating is provided depending on season and temperature (mainly summer months)
Is it safe?
The property is totally fenced and has an automatic gate with video phone entry system. There are 2 private houses approximately 500mts either side of Palazzo Scagliae so you will not be isolated. Being at the top of the mountain, you will be able to see anyone coming!
What about the wildlife?
Depending on the time of year, you can come across many different species of local wildlife. These can include deer, wild boar, owls, falcons, pheasants, hares & rabbits, small lizards and frogs. During the summer take care when approaching warm areas such as rocks and fire wood as there could be some grass snakes heating up. They are usually harmless and will run away when they hear the sound of footsteps.
Parking
Vehicles are to be parked on the gravel or in the underground garage. We kindly ask you to not park on the lawns.
Extra Cleaning Service
While linens and towels are included, additional cleaning services are not included in the rental rate. However, it is available at an additional rate of EUR 40 per cleaning.
Arrival/Check In time
This is from 14.00 Hrs / 2.00pm on the arrival day booked. We may be a little flexible on this, provided that there are no departures from the night prior. Please check with us within a few days of your arrival date and when possible we will be happy to oblige.
Departure/Check Out time
This is by 10.00 Hrs / 10.00am on the departure day booked. We can be a little flexible on this, provided that there are no imminent new arrivals. Please check with us and when possible we will be happy to oblige.
Cancellations by US
It is extremely unlikely that we will have to make any changes to your property rental. However, occasionally we may have to make changes and reserve the right to do so at any time. Most of these changes would be minor and we will advise you of them as soon as
they may be applicable. If we are forced to cancel the property rental because of force majeur or for any reason that makes the property unfit for rental, you will be entitled to a full refund of all monies paid to us. Please note that we are not liable for any consequential loss or incidental expenditure resulting from the cancellation of your holiday.
Accessibility / Wheelchair access
The property is set on 3 levels and has stairs and steps throughout the building and grounds, therefore not recommended for wheelchair access.
Meeting Point & Keys
We are happy to meet you directly at Palazzo Scagliae if you are confident in finding your own way there. Otherwise we can arrange to meet in Gubbio town centre and we will show you the best roads to take. Either way, please give us a call when you are about 20 minutes from Gubbio.
